Because now there's nothing wrong with it and some people don't have to money to upgrade.

One reason I'm skipping 7 because I don't need it for DX11 , LOL

and I don't see why to bash XP so hard. I'm not a true enthusiast, I'll admit that now. I only want to spend money on things I need. Win7 won't get more more fps, or make anything THAT MUCH faster, so if I were to spend the money, Ide probably just blow it on a 32GB SSD instead. My sony vegas and games still work on xp. my browsing works. Everything works on xp. = no need to upgrade.

nah mate. in saying that apparently you should be able to play DX11 games, just not with all the DX11 goodies. i dunno if that goes for games solely built on DX11 or only ones that support DX11 and older versions.

Hmm, well I guess it's the fact that for $120 7 is a terrible upgrade. Minimal performance enhancements at best. I can get it for $35 even, and I won't be "upgrading".

I would upgrade my iMac to SL than my PC to 7. Why? Because at least SL offers pretty decent performance enhancements compared to 7. Though, I don't use my iMac enough to justify SL.

Simple fact of the matter is, I'm not going to waste a dime on a couple FPS more.

I had already tried the trick and it worked fine, but I had to reformat a couple of days ago and last night doing Windows Update it did the "Platform Update" and now I have Dx11 again without the registry trick. They are doing it now for all with Vista.
