How so? None of those are too bad, most people need Adobe anyway.

I'd like to see it come with NOTHING but the software built in to windows. Basically, they've JUST installed an OEM OS on to the hard drive and then sold it.

I never use any of the crapware they put on it, it should ATLEAST be an option for the customer to decide on.

They have to put on some form of security software, otherwise the n00bs will complain when they get 40 Trojans.

Make a company, start building computers, start selling them with only Os installed... no biggie - pretty much that is the only way You can have 'options'. That is as obvious as water is wet that they will bundle with their own software.
Besides - since You are a OCN member I really do not see anything difficult in removing 'crap' 'bloat' 'other crap' software You do not need by Yourself, right?
Just be happy that one company is introducing such a model - other companies seeing people liking it (time will tell) might actually do the same.
Cheers.

In my personal opinion...

This pre-loaded software is good for any new PC owner, or previous owner of a older operating system. say Xp > W7 etc.

But when I start working on those computers with the pre-loaded software, I remove it as fast as I can. Just clutters my work up.

everyone uses adobe and mse, or atleast they should lol and as for live essentials, most of those things are essential, i mean photo viewer and dvd maker, not like they are resource hogs or are these massive programs that will take up half your hd.... they have to put a few things that the common user will think is "neat" for marketing purposes

Microsoft its Windows 7 is really looking good.

Fast, Reliable, and not congested by other applications in the OS.

Make sure all the drivers are updated, and when a model has a known sftware error (remember the Toshiba laptops that had the registry filter error?) I've always taken the extra time to be sure it got fixed before it left. Microsoft doing this is just taking the next step in their giant business, doing it before anyone else can.
Well if you're on the dark side that means I'm on the light side of IT. I provide "free" support for students (included in room and board) for my university. And I know exactly what you're talking about.

The biggest problems I see are the "Wireless Connection Assistants" which all these manufacturers seem to have. They really just cause more problems than they solve (do they solve any?). However, out of the few Windows 7 PCs I've seen so far, manufacturers have been scaling back on the bloatware.
