A look at the online store shows a Dell Studion XPS laptop (13", 2.53GHz) for $999, free shipping. Not too bad, really. On the Dell website it lists that model for $1149, so there is something wierd about that.

Who doesn't use adobe anyway?

Oh and I have an idea. Wouldn't it be cool if the admins could go a day without deleting every post they don't agree with?

I agree, everybody now needs Adobe, its GOOD... so no harm in having such useful software.

Business line, or entry level business line.

Also, Adobe Acrobat Reader is trash. It's heavy, slow, and crashes systems. Foxit reader is much much better for PDFs.

Acrobat Reader also installed the Adobe download manager, and the download manager downloaded and installed McAfee "VirusScan" or something like that, without asking me. That makes it that last time I ever use an optional (free) Adobe piece of software.

EVERYONE is allowed to buy from the Dell small business section. The prices are generally better and you can configure it so it comes with ZERO bloatware.

Actulaly, all the Dell home line computers come with an OS re-install disk. This disk has ZERO bloatware on it. If you use the partition or you use the "applications" disk you will start running into issues.

Microsoft is an old dog that refused to learn any new tricks... I am just waiting for my Google OS now. I hope they don't "bundle" up crape ware like MS does...

If Win2000 = NT5, WinXp = NT6. Now is Win7.

Win Vista = NT6.5?

Make sure all the drivers are updated, and when a model has a known sftware error (remember the Toshiba laptops that had the registry filter error?) I've always taken the extra time to be sure it got fixed before it left. Microsoft doing this is just taking the next step in their giant business, doing it before anyone else can.
DBAN and reinstall

You'll never see it again
