Microsoft had promised that Vista users wouldn't be left in the cold, and would be able to download and use DirectX 11. It included DirectX 11 in a beta version of its "Platform Update" available in September. The final version is now available via Windows Update.

Ever hear of dx9 and 10? Unless by future you mean like many years from now when dx11 is the minimum used, then no.

No you need a DX11 card to play DX11.

At dx11? No, but you can still have playing them at dx9 or 10. Unless, like I said before, many years down the road when dx11 is possibly the minimum standard like dx9 is now.

Thanks for the clarification, too bad Nvidia couldn't release drivers that allow Dx10 cards to play Dx11.

They are not capable of dx11 with drivers or not. It's a hardware limitation. ATI's 2,3,and 4 series on the other can do almost like a hybrid dx11.

Its not the software its the hardware support for DX11 that nVidia is lacking right now.
