Default [Windows IT Pro] Windows 7 sets sales record

Source

Quote:
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer described Windows 7's first ten days of sales as "fantastic" while in Japan yesterday. And while he didn't provide specific numbers, he did add that the first 10 days of Windows 7 sales generated more revenue than had any previous Windows version in the same time period.
I think a lot of this could be attributed to the Microsoft marketing team going gangbusters and the company delivering an excellent product...

I think that releasing a great beta product for free also helped. Word of mouth went around fast and got the hype machine going early on.

I am so happy I can finally say I am happier with my OS on Windows than I was when I used a Mac.

You mean that icon that says Games that bugs me every single time I click it because I always mean to go to control panel? I have no idea how that works but everything on my system is screwed up from my four different program files(x86) folders on four different hard drives. Though that should be switched when I finally install the non-RC version of Win7 next year that I got in the mail last month. Oh and yes, I think the beta version is a HUGE part of why Win7 sales are through the roof. I know it is why I bought Win7, that and the discount you got for buying it early.

Yup, definitely microsofts most hyped version of windoze ever. By hyped I dont mean random advertisement driven hype, its actual genuine hype. Ubuntu is still better though.
