Exactly. Vista brought a bunch of changes to the table, and what really gave Vista a bad name were the hardware manufactures. Microsoft told the OEM's that there was going to be a TON of changes and that new drivers were going to be needed. Well, it could be that the OEM's didn't have enough time, but they released half-done drivers for Vista. So when half the hardware didn't work with Vista because of crap drivers, people blamed it on the OS.

Why is it my audio components and other problems are now gone after upgrading to Windows 7?

Well there are those people who can't think for themselves, and they take the Apple commercials as the word of God.

Vista was great before SP1 TBH, but when Vista x64 first came out it was horrible. This was mainly due to drivers though.

Even today most people still hate Vista without even using it. Did you see this thread http://www.overclock.net/other-softw...s-history.html Is it wierd that im using an OS that is regarded as a biggest failure in history and im loving it

I think Windows 7s success will mark the beginning of the end for both XP and 32-bit. Why 32-bit? I'm currently shopping for a laptop for a Christmas gift and all the Windows 7 laptops and desktops I see advertised on Micro Center, Best Buy, Dell, and HP are all 64-bit. I have yet to see a 32-bit Windows 7 machine being advertised anywhere. They might exist but they are rare and scarcely advertised right now. 64-bit is definatly being favored with Windows 7.

The only thing I dont like about vista is that some of my games run crappy with it (guitar hero) when they run fine on my windows 7 laptop.......

But yea vista is fine, I like how people will hate something just because other people hate it, a lot of people I talked to were extremely against vista, yet they haven't even tried it and new nothing about it, so its like how can you hate it so much when you've never used it?!?

Ive noticed the same phenomenon with other things, and also if a large group of people like something, then another group will automatically hate it just because the other group likes it............its weird so to the human population I say this

Experience it FIRST, THEN
GET UR OWN (cant swear so will use the word) DARNED OPINION!!!!

Vista was good, but it had a lot of unlocked unused potentiol, like a star football player with no heart in the game. 7 fixed that

Windows 7 works very well so far. The only trouble I've had so far was registering my install. The Family Pack edition seems to have a registry error which prevents inputing the serial. Had to regedit and cmd my way through it haha

Eaither way so far so good. I was expect some more features added on sense RC1, all I can see is efficiency and a bit of lightening up. On RC1 my Netbook got a 2.1 on Home Premium it gets 2.3
