Officer: *Finishes with the USB transfer* Thank you for your time

Fixed.

Really though, as bad as some may think this COFEE thing it is, it is the lesser of the evils. If you think what the alternatives are like them confiscating your computer or bringing in a specialist to your home to analyze the computer. It makes the whole USB transfer and go seem like a good deal.

(Unless someone had some bad stuff on their computer then they would not be worried about how they get the info, just worried that they have it)

What about those officers' whom use their time equipment and resources in the name of the law, to reward themselves by " stealing intellectual property " even before the designer has the time to submit for their protection rights for the work they have done.

Every day here in Los Angeles California there are officers from all sorts of agencies which routinely investigate people from all walks of life, yet these are investigations into people who are not doing anything illegal.

Yet the information they collect can and often ends up being sold and/or givin to some corporate competitors.

Coffee......I guess I need one of those coffee usb drives too.

I could sneak into the competitions offices and come out with enough information to know their whole plans and/or design strategy.

But, then I would never do that...all for the same reasons that I don't gamble or play the lottery.

If ever I won something that I did not work for or think of....the reward would not be 1% fulfilling.

It would be like cheating in a game where you know you did not win, nothing satisfying about that at all.

some other forensic tools

e-fence live response
http://www.e-fense.com/products.php
Quote:
Acquire volatile data (Internet history, screen capture, memory…) from a system onto a USB thumb drive with Live Response. Built on H3E technology, Live Response quickly acquires data using e-fense patent-pending technology.
cacheback 2
http://www.cacheback.ca/default.asp
Quote:
CacheBack® is the leading Internet cache and history analysis tool on the market today that supports all five (5) top browsers. Web pages are easily rebuilt offline by the simple click of the mouse which allows evidence to be presented "in its original state" thereby offering a more visual impact to courts and jurors.
SimpleCarver
http://www.simplecarver.com/
Quote:
Simple Carver Suite is a collection of unique tools designed for a number of purposes including but not limited to forensic computing, data recovery and eDiscovery. Simple Carver originally began as a single data recovery tool, a basic file carver which has proved very popular with our customers over the years.
an important note: e-fence live response, if you are logged in as admin in a windows XP, Vista, or 7 machine, can take what's in your RAM, which is really important for investigations. For instance, however it is that Facebook works, chat logs are stored in your RAM for as many as two weeks, which is kind of shocking. This is after power-cycles... FB keeps storing it in your RAM.

EDIT: oh i forgot bout this fun one. if you have a USB drive with the U3 technology, this is really fun.
http://wiki.hak5.org/wiki/Universal_U3_LaunchPad_Hacker
Now, the USB switchblade option uses trojans to take stuff from the windows machine. and these are NOT forensic tools, because the main difference is that with a forensic tool, it does not make any changes to the system, which is important when providing evidence in a court case.

He's not necessarily endangering you... what's more is that you'd kill him.

It's not like he's got a family or friends or anyone who cares about him, right? Cops are obviously clones bred to oppress us .
