I think the Beyers are better for gaming if you have the money (I've not gamed on them though, only heard music), but for the price the A700/900 rocks.

I don't think there is a better source than the X-FI Fatality sound card and as for the amp, what would you say is the best for $50-$100 or if there is one less than $50 that still has good sound? I know that these headphones have a 40 impedence level compaired to Senn595 which has 140 or something close to that. I am fairly new to this audio stuff but I understand that in order to get better sound the impedence has to be lower from the start....right?

Actually there are like 20 soundcards that have better analogue out than the X-Fi. Most of them are cheaper, such as the Bluegears b-Inspirer or the Sondigo Inferno.

that they are. Many people like them for music, but I'm not a huge fan. They are bassy with somewhat recessed mids. The bass is also a bit loose compared to my HD580's. So, while they were great gaming cans I found them only so-so for music.

However, I did get the chance to audition a pair of Beyer manufacture 880 600ohm cans with leather pads and was just amazed by the clarity of the bass. There was still lots of bass, but it hit hard and tight where the 770's just hit hard. The 600ohm 880's also didn't exhibit the recessed mids and had a bit of a sparkle in the highs that made them much more pleasant to listen to.
btw, here's a nice pair of manufacture 880's for sale for only $375. The seller is someone I have personally dealt with before and is a great guy. His prices are fair and gear is in mint condition.
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=255883
so if anyone wants to splurge go for it!

This knowledge has really made me want 1 of 2 things: darth beyers They're supposed to be the best beyers you can get! plus they look really cool, but they're like a minimum of $370 on top of the price of the 770's.
or Beyer manufacture 880's, but once again configured the way I want is like $500 so it'll be a while.

In the meantime to tide me over I splurged for a pair of leather pads for my 770's. So I took a stock pair of dt770 pro/80's (retail $250, can find for $200) and spent $65 for genuine leather pads that can only be purchased via beyer manufacture and when you are ordering beyer manufactures... so I lucked out and found someone ordering a pair of 990's I got black (read jet black) genuine lather pads so now my 770's are all black

I'll probably do a recable on them too which will add another $100+ to the price. lol

Refer to my price points above. I still think that if you're going to only get 1 pair of cans and use them for everything a pair of Senn HD595's are the way to go!

I can think of several sources better than the X-Fi Fatality. One of them being the Elite but in all seriousness, lots and lots of better sources.

One option that works well is to use your X-Fi as a transport. You'll retain the CMSS 3D but use the digital out on your card to feed a higher quality DAC. Many affordable DACs have built in headphone amps like the Zhaolu or the Beresford. You can get these for $200 or less. I'm probably going to sell my Beresford soon, maybe I'll sell my Zhaolu too and get something better... hmmm tempting

For an amp, I have a review of several sub $150 amps and I have 2 more amps sitting on my desk that are ready to be reviewed in the next few days.
I also broke down a purchased a RSA tomahawk last night. It's double the price of most of the other amps in review, but I got a good deal and I can tell you right now that the Mister X XP is the best in my review currently, but the tomahawk will beat it (yes I've A/B'd the two previously)

But more into your question regarding sub $100 amps I have 2 C&C Box amps here that both retail for $110 new, that are both very good for the money and overall I like quite a bit. since I have the tomahawk on the way I'll be selling them though and very soon

It's actually $295.00 plus $14 shipping. If you want any color other than black it's an additional $15. I've personally met Ray, he's a nice guy. At the Ontario Head-Fi meet I gave away a few cables as door prizes and Ray tried to walk off with a couple of them with a big grin on his face
