Actually the closed cans creates a sort pressurized feeling in my ear. It feels like my ears are about to pop.

the only closed ear headphones on the audio-technica site are the ath-a700s and the ath-a55's. what is the difference between these headphones and the a500 and a900? how do all these compare to the sennheiser hd280 pro?

Sorry, I didn't realize you edited your post.

According to AudioCubes, the difference between the A500 and the A900 is that the 900's reach higher frequencies than the 500. Also, max output from the 900 is significantly higher than the 500.

As far as how the Audio Technica compares to the Sennheisers, I have no idea.
