There's no "this is better than this" with headphones, really. It's all preference. I prefer my ATH-A900s, but someone may like their HD555s better. That's the issue with sound equipment, is if all you do is listen to other's suggestions, you won't develop your own ear. Of course, buying a $200 pair of headphones without knowing what they're going to sound like is a tough thing to get over, too. Just get something one of us has recommended, and then see if YOU like it. If not, then it just isn't meant for your ears. You just have to try a lot to develop your ear for what you like. In high end headphones, there's no "right" or "wrong" answer. Just don't get Bose

QFT.

I'm looking into buying a pair of AudioTechnicas sometime in the future just to get a feel of what's out there.

He's looking for cans to listen to music, not game.

I have my A900s, and later this summer I plan on buying some Open Grado or Sennheiser cans to get a feel for what else there is. I also plan on getting some Earbuds. I was thinking of getting the ATH-AD900s as my open cans, and some Audiotechnica buds, then I realized that I need to hear more of what's out there than just what Audiotechnica has to offer. Thus, I plan (for now >.>) on some V-Moda Vibes and some Sennheiser HD555s. By the time I'm ready to buy, this may all change, but I know there's no real use in owning 3 pairs of Audiotechnica headphones if I'm trying to develop my ear.

i use mine to listen to music all the time. granted, i'm older than most of you and have been listening to loud music my whole life - who knows how good my ears are anymore.

i've heard a lot of people say they prefer their Icemats to Sennheisers.

^ It's impossible to argue against personal preference. As long as you think it sounds good, that's all that matters. Personally, I love the high frequencies.
