To answer your question wigseryc, the media player in that picture is J River Media Center. This is what I replaced iTunes with.

EAC can directly encode to Flac and EAC has a naming scheme setup too. Plus you should be able to get the track info and what not using EAC. So you should be able to do it all from EAC.

Yeah, I know that EAC can do it directly, I just don't like that it uses the FreeDB, so I like using Easy CD-DA extractor for the encoding, plus you can store album artwork in the APE tag with ECDDAE, which I find convenient.

OK, I have a question. Is doingthe CD-DA encoding really necessary to play the audio files? I'm using Foobar right now. I plan on installing Rockbox on my Zen when I get it, if that changes anything. I was just wondering how necessary it is to not use the WAV files.

I was thinking of just playing the WAV files straight. Any real reason to encode them to something different if your Media Player supports WAV?
