Well wav files don't really have ID3 or any tags in the file, so if you change media players, the metadata (artist, track, genre, etc. embedded in the audio file) will be hard to transfer. I think that some programs might write some kind of tag to a wav file, but even then a different media player might not be able to read it. Other than that, wav is a lossless format and there would be no other reason not to leave it as it is, but it will take up more space than another lossless format. Doesn't rockbox support ape (Monkey's Audio)?

I think Rockbox supports APE, but I saw that the CD-DA is only a trial version, and I wasn't sure if I would have to buy to use the full potential of that program.

There are other programs that you can use that are free, I just really like that one because I've been using it for years and it's really nice for tagging/transcoding. It's hard to find a good transcoder for free that can tag well. You could just transcode to ape with the standard free encoder on their site and then tag the files with your media player (would work best if it is fully compatible with .ape)

Hey Ducky, I was trying to rip a disc into FLAC as usual last night, and it had errors. This is the first time a disc was damaged enough to have errors for me; is there really anything I can do to fix it? I've already tried cleaning it with an alcohol wipe, but these scratches are too deep.

I read that trying to rip with C2 Error Correction enabled might help, maybe I should just try that.

i have a question regarding burning.

Whenever i burn a cd and play it on windows media player, it will read the tracks as track1,2,3,4 etc

How do i burn them so when i play them it says track name and info

Highlight the song and press F2 (While in EAC). From there you can tab down through the list .

Thanks for the guide, however during the rip I get "Read error" and "Sync error". This doesn't stop the ripping, however it goes really slow.
