Default Audio gurus needed, no sound from old motherboard

I had the sound working on an old motherboard (P4P800-vm), and all of a sudden it stopped working. There is a catch though:

The case I am using is OEM HP and the audio connector does not match up. I am using 2 pin connectors to fill in for the left and right output on the audio pin out. I took one of the pin outs out for a little bit to clear my cmos, and when I put it back in it didn't work.

I have cleaned and installed my drivers multiple times now (Drivers are called SoundMax AD1980).

I have also tried playing sound through AUX. I have an aux to headphone adapter, and that won't work either.

I have also checked bios and everything is enabled in there.

Go back to square one. Act like you've never cleared CMOS.

I've gone through that at least 5 times, nothing has been working.

I would be perfectly ok if the thing was fried, I would just buy a cheapo sound card, but the fact that windows is detecting it is telling me that it has something to do with my software or bios configuration. I knocked out bios configuation about 2 minutes ago when I went through and looked at everything. I guess I'll just get drivercleaner and try to reinstall drivers again...
