hey guys, so here is the deal:
i recently "upgraded" my Audigy 2 Platinum to an XFi XtremeMusic. i currently have my Wii and LCD TV hooked up to my sound card to my speakers. here is how everything is connected (bear with me here ):Wii: component cables from TV to Wii, red and white audio are plugged into a component to stereo jack (Y cable) TV: the tv is hooked up via composite red and white to stereo (another Y cable) both Y cables are hooked up to a splitter so that my one line in can process both at the same time. all speakers worked with the Audigy 2, but no longer with the XFi. what the f happened?? here is how everything is plugged into my XFi [_____] [_____] [_____] [_____] Line In Green Black Orange i have a 6.1 speaker setup hooked up to it. help would be GREATLY appreciated so i can watch tv and play Wii in surround sound again ![]()

are you sure you dont have a 5.1 or 7.1?
did you check all the volume levels and made sure the line in jack is not muted?

Also when you check your volume meters, make sure it didnt default back to "stereo" setup. For some reason my defaults back to that on a new driver installation.

im positive its a 6.1 cuz it says so on the box
technically, its a 5.1 since i dont use my rear center channel.i have set 5.1 in Creative Audio Console and vista speaker setup. and everything is plugged in correctly. i will only get sound out of my front channels and not the back. its annoying as hell! i noticed that the XFi doesnt handle 2 inputs very well. the Wii will come out the left channel and the TV will come out the right. wth?

That's a known surround sound issue with X-Fi under Vista... They haven't gotten around to fixing that yet.

I had an issue with XP 64 and surround not working. It would use the front 2 speakers for front and rear and not use the sub. I had to aquire the X-Fi suite via torrent as my card was OEM and the disk didn't have it. I found another version (not sure if I got it via another torrent or from creatives site. There seem to be more drivers there since the last time I checked)
Not sure if this will help or not, but it fixed my problems.
