Default X-Fi Bass

I would like to reduce the amount of base that the X-Fi emmits. I was able to do this in the Creative console launcher thing in Vista, however creative don't seem to have the same software avaliable for XP 64bit (God knows why). Anyway, Is there a way to do this with the bog standard Audio console? My parents are getting pretty angry. Even on classical music i get huge amounts of bass and i have to turn the volume down, which sucks.

Sometimes the speakers will have a bass control, that will work the best. Yea, I don't think you can do it in Vista, however you can use the EQ in your media player to manually reduce the bass.

What Hz range is the bass?

I also have the bass knob turned all the way down on my X-530's and it's still waaay too much for my liking

The lower frequency ranges control the bass. For example my EQ's lowest is 31, circled the low ranges in red.

Hmm you see i don't have that console. The version I have doesn't work with XP 64. Do you know of a version that does?

I have no idea what you two are talking about. Insert the CD that came with the xi-fi, keep clicking next and you will have that installed, even on xp x64.

Well, my console (the one that was shipped with my card) has a 10-band graphic EQ. The low end, or "bass" as we call it goes from 31Hz to 250-500Hz. I have the Bass Boost in the THX console boosted by 1dB with a cutoff frequency of 26Hz because my speakers can go as low as 25Hz (I'm being cautious).

Can you take screenshots of everything you DO have available to you?
