That I am, it was quite an experience.

Yes, it is an expensive hobby. However, audio holds its value so much better than pc's - if you spend $1,000 on a very respectable setup it will maintain that value for years, whereas a video card loses half its value within 6 months.

You don't have to spend thousands to have an audiophile-quality rig. I think this is something that people here on OCN are starting to realize - that it is possible to have something very worthwhile that doesn't break the bank.

We have a dedicated group in this section that is more than willing to help anyone interested in putting something together, so don't be shy .
