Default best bang for buck sound card.

looking to buy a new one, since i've been running onboard.
my budget for a card is around 50$

currently looking at this.

What will you be using it for? For stereo music playback, the Chaintech AV-710 is the king of budget cards. You can find them used on eBay for even cheaper as well.

well I was told getting a soundcard would put less strain on my system while I was gaming...and better audio is always a plus!

It's more for the sound quality. The performance gain is supposedly very marginal.
