Default sound card for recording music

well ive been playing guitar for years and i want to start recording some stuff so im looking for a soundcard thats great for that. my amps line out is an XLR hookup but i guess ill need to get myself an adapter for that. thanks for the help

What is your budget? There are multiple interfaces out there which have XLR inputs on them, for example E-Mu, Echo, MOTU, Lynx, RME and even more, but some of these cards are more expensive then others, and if you're on a budget below $100 for example, you'll need to look at entirely different cards.

hmm im looking for something that doesnt top 150. at the moment. i just need something for a decent start at recording instrumentals
