Is This Any Good For...
re-wiring headphones?? Seems to me it might be a bit too thin,30x0.04=1.2mm, but i could double up....??

generally size is not what is key its the purity of copper/silver that matters most, then the housing/shielding then the AWG (measurement of size) but really for the headphones you have I think you should stay away from rewiring... its more for the audiophile headsets, HD555/580/595/600/650s
AKG 600+ and some DJs etc.

the cable sounds like its really good quality, its a 30 strand pure copper litz config in a silk sheath, but are you really up to rewiring your headphones, also you'll need to disassemble them to rewire them, as you'll want to solder the wire directly to the contacts on the PCBs

I see a couple issues with that auction.
1. they don't say the total awg of the wire, but it does look to be meant for tonearms... so it'll be quite small 2. I've never seen a stranded wire in a silk dialectic, only solid 3. it doesn't tell you the purity of the copper, only states 'high quality' Well I've got some high quality copper wire I just melted down some old pipes for and wala! It should say 99.99% or 99.999% or something along those lines before you should consider it.
