Default Finicky speakers.

Recently I've been having an issue with my Klipsch promedia 2.0 speakers. It seems like the volume knob somehow affects the connection to the left speaker. At times the sound from the left speaker goes way down, but can be fixed by pressing on the volume knob until the speakers sound balanced again. Any idea what's happening and if it can be fixed?

The volume knob is getting dirty or worn out, probably just dust, radioshack sells tuner knob cleaner you can try that it should if not fix it , improve it better than it is now.
