Default AUDIO TECHNICA Stereo Headphone ATH-PRO5MS

Im looking at buying a set of these, are they good for gaming at all? They got good reviews for music/djing etc.
I mostly use my PC for games, music, and movies, and am looking for a head set under $100. If these arnt any good, any other suggestions?

its comfy, sound is good, and around $100.

There's one used in FS thread.

Was also looking at the Skullcandy SCS-SCBP3.5 Skullcrushers Subwoofer Stereo Headphones.
They seem pretty solid and decent for gaming and music (considering I listen to alot of metal/rock)

I can't say anything about gaming on the Skullcandies, but for rock and metal, if it is anything like the Skullcandy earphones, I wouldn't buy them, there's probably enough bass to kill every other frequency. Spend $30 more get a pair of Grado SR60 for that, you'll be much happier, granted they don't have a very good soundstage for gaming.

I hear these have superb soundstage for gaming, Namrac says that they are more centered than both the AD700 and the DT770.

For multi purpose gaming headphones in the range of $100 you'll have to look at:
Senn:
HD555s <- entry level
HD580s <- very good, and modifiable
ATH:
AD700s<- good balanced cans, less bass impact then A700s
A700s<- closed back version of AD700s more bass impact
Beyer:
DT770s <- Great Cans, good balance, may need an amp for weaker sources...

Overall the choice is up to you. From my personal experience I love my AD700s over my HD555s for the comfort factor, now both are great sets of cans, but when gaming for hours on end I need my AD700s. I'm a metal head, into rock and techno aswell, but am not a bass junkie, so I like the great balance and deliverance of my AD700ss, but any of the aforementioned headphones should do what you need them to. General rules, closed back headphones will have more bass impact, and will block out more outside noises, allowing you to focus more. Open backed headphones will have a wider sound stage, and allow more noise in and out, from your surroundings.
