Default beyerdynamic 770-Pro's for studio-monitoring

Just got some new studio equipment for my home studio, and I need some decent monitoring headphones.

http://northern-america.beyerdynamic...ash=ea6cb3ee29

those OK?

Gonna be plugged into a Firebox and hooked up to a Sterling ST55 condenser and (eventually) an Audix D6.

The 32 ohm model is designed for drummers monitoring, I believe.

For regular studio monitoring, the AKG 240/340s would probably be a better choice. DT770s are fairly colored.

If you do get them, the 250ohm is a better choice over the 80 ohm, as the SQ is better, but it requires an amp though.

You've got that backwards.

600 ohm > 80 ohm > 250 ohm > 32 ohm for regular music listening. For monitoring, it may be different, as the 32 ohm was designed for that purpose.

I might add that the 32 ohmer is specifically for percussion as well.

AKG has nice choices for studio work - along with those suggested by Nammy I might also suggest the recently discontinued K271s. eBay will be your find for this pair.

Good luck.
