Default Decent $100 Sound card to pair with my AD700's?

Hey Audiophiles,

It is time for me to make the leap from onboard to well, "Awesomeness".

I'm looking to buy some AD700's and I'm lookin for a sound card around $100 that would pair well with it.

Any suggestions?

Kthxbai.

I only have a x-fi xtreme music + ad700's and it sounds very good. You could always buy this card and just modify the op amps for very good sound and it would be less than $100 bucks. I think the only other option is the Asus Xonar but I don't know the price on it.

Edit: http://www.emu.com/products/product....&product=10447 maybe?

Thanks for your suggestoins, I was just looking at the modding thread, looks a tad bit too hard for me :P. You think I can find someone on OCN to mod it for me?

I don't think anyone is doing the modding for hire anymore. The lowest price I just saw skimming a few pages was 80 bucks for the xtrememusic. Sometimes you can find them for 50-60 though.

Anyways once you get a new card(hopefully has asio support) download foobar and you will be blown away by the clarity. Here is a pic of my set up atm(for decent bass) cause normally bass isn't so hot on the ad700's.

The card is in audio creation with bit matched playback on. Also I turned the sound card output up to 75% and leave foobar kind of low. I hear distortion when the foobar level is too high. This sounds awesome to me. You and others might have different tastes.

Edit: I thought soloz quit doing the mods for others a long time ago? Otherwise I might see if he'll do it for me also.
