Default $5, 5 minute Speaker Wall Mount

Hi

As the title says this is a 5 minute speaker wall mount. It costs $5 for EACH speaker mount, so I needed 2=$10 (All prices AUS)

Basically I wanted to put my rear speakers onto the wall behind without having to leave a few holes behind when I took them off and didn't cost me a fortune.

I have the Logitech X-530 5.1 sound system and the speakers use a keyhole to mount onto walls etc.

Crude yes. And I don't think this needs instructions as it is quite simple, so now I leave you all with the pictures, hope you all enjoy! BTW if anyone wants the full res 8.1mp photos or written instructions, tell me so I can upload them.

I might add a few extra features later as this is quite crude and disgusting but at the same time it is pretty hard as I also need to keep the weight and cost down.

Double sided tape was used for this as I already had some and my dad says this doesn't rip the wall. If it does, I will simply switch to 3M Command picture adhesive things (which cost about $5)

I also live in Australia and if this concerns you, I got all this stuff from Bunnings... I don't think you can get the brackets at Mitre 10 or anywhere else.

Hope you all like this!

All the parts (and a bit more) to make 1 of the brackets.

Double sided tape? Nice if you want broken speakers. I wouldn't trust this solution for more than a few hours if you like to crank your speakers, nor for over a week if you don't crank them. Screw that thing into the wall son, it's nothing a little putty and paint can't fix when your done.

Don't worry, this is only so I can squeeze the costs under $5 ea lol. I know this won't last more than a month at the absolute most. Its still there after 12 hours though. I know I am going to spend an extra $10 on 3M Command but I have to anyway.

I plan to use a 2 sets of 3M "Picture Hanging Strips" which can hold 1.5kg each for a total maximum of 3kg. It will bump the costs up about $3 ea. I assume my speakers and the hold are about 1.5kg maximum as they weigh less than my laptop which weighs in at about 1.7kg without battery.

My speakers have been dropped several times already (The price of hosting a party at your house) and they are still pretty awesome.

Thanks for REP

EDIT: It tells me that "Your reputation on this post is Somewhat Positive". Why is "this post" underlined?

Well I suppose if it's rated for 1.5 KG, it should be fine. The thing that worries me is the vibrations that the speaker will cause. But the tape sounds strong enough to even combat that. If anything is the enemy here, it's the resilience of the tape over time.

Agree. The vibrations won't be a lot I believe. These are the REAR speakers and they generally don't produce a lot of noise except in Call of Duty 4 where I get explosions all around me.

Does anyone have any experience with spraypaint can things? I want to paint this black so it blends in more with my rig. Two black monitors, black keyboard + mouse, black speakers, black case...
