yes yes, it'll be fine, get a sub with a good Xover, and simply piggy back the line outs (L and R) and then run that into your subs line in, and you're set. The X-over will remove all the highs and mids, and compress all the lows into a single channel sound and then the powered amp will drive it , and bam, you have BASS!!!

I recommend the Logitech Z-2300.
Very good 2.1, my roommate had them couple years ago. And right now Newegg is offering free UPS ground shipping! That's $90 shipped brand new!! *EDIT* just re-read the OP. I don't think these are what you are looking for

be sure to take some pictures
and remember to look for ones with a speaker level input... or line level input (non amped signal, direct from source, ie. CD player)

lol i got the ones today i wanted originally and i love them.
there balanced can nail super high notes and low perfectly. i have some klipsch's in the basement and i think these sound close to each other. sorry ill put up pics soon i cant find my camera
