One of the best sounding (to me), or the most satisfying ear-phones I've ever had was a cheap-o Koss set of ear-buds with foam canal inserts that allowed me to put it a good way into my ear to get good sound. So, I'm sure there are better out there than those so in the 50-75 range what is there to pick from? I need something that can fit a slightly bigger ear as a normal Ipod ear-bud had trouble staying in place. I like a warm sound to my music and a speaker able to put out some bass in case I'm in the mood for hip-hop.

C551K, besides the 15-30$ JVC FX66, these are warm, but not overpowering in the bass. they run about 65$, if you look hard enough. 50$ at amazon super light, i think they were more comfortable than the super. fi 3, which was a bit light on the bass, dont even bother with the ER6i, they are very analytical and anemic with bass

I was considering the c551k's as I saw the same recommendation on another thread or two and the price isn't too bad. Thanks!

Unless you get the metro series or the EB [which are 150$] they are very light on the bass. i owned the UE's and hated them everyday i owned them. uncomfortable, a pain to loop around the ear, bad build quality. for 50$, his money is better spent on the C551k's

Phospho Lipid,
__________________I would like an earbud that doesn't require much EQ tweaking as I'm not very good at tweaking the EQ. So I guess I'm looking for a earbud that isn't "flat" and ready for tweaking. Thanks for the help thus far +rep

TBO I consider myself a bass head. I like large amounts of bass, but I do understand the difference between tight, clean bass, and muddy, overpowering bass. That being said, I've also purchased many of the earbuds [or sampled at lenghts] that people suggest. Some people say the Denon C551k's don't have the best fit, but I'd disagree. I have average ears, and they come with multiple tips, just like the Super.Fi 3's. The denon's are "fun" and are not as flat/analytical/dry at the ER6i's which are the typical signature sound you'd get out of IEMs/Earbuds [the analytical part, that is]. The sures have superb sound quality, and seeing how they've moved onto the "SE" series, the E2C's only less than a changed, go cheap. They have good build quality, but the E2C's once again aren't warm. If you'd like, I'd explain their signature sound, but basically they're more of a classic rock/classic music earbud, which blocks out sound very well by the way. Unless you go with cheaper earbuds [which all have the same sound signature, just different quality of its deliverance] I'd say besides the FX66's[with the kramer mod] the Denon's are the warmest, cheapest earbuds you can buy for your category of music. I love large amounts of bass, this doesn't have that, but it has clean, fun bass. Than again, the super.fi's and senn's have even less bass, are drier, or flatter. And the super.fi's were all around uncomfortable [well, for me]. looping the super.fi 3 wire [which is because of the driver/housing design] is annoying to do EVERY time. they'd stay in place, and blocked out sound extremely well, but the C551k's block out sound pretty well themselves. Why I haven't said anything about the Metro.fi 2 by Ultimate Ears: Simply because there are hardly any credible reviews. only reviews i have read so far are from news sites like engadet. until i pick up a pair or I read a review from a better head-fier, i'mma avoid recommending them, but none the less, check em out. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/met...y-torn-296173/ TLDR: get the denon's, they're not flat, super lite weight, and so far haven't busted on me like the super.fi's or sonys. also their easy to eq. as for the CK7's for Audio technia, heres a good review on them. clean and fun, but not much low end [like most IEMS] http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/rev...th-ck7-245611/

Thanks again for the info bud, they sound like the right ones for me as I want clean bass but more than what my Audio-Technica's are giving.
