Alright is there any way to enable the subwoofer out jack on my soundcard, or any soundcard (willing to purchase a new one) without running 5.1+ surround?

I am running a Sansui AU-8500 with a set of Paradigm Studio 20's, which is great - but I have access to a sub (dad's Paradigm Servo 15 - hell yes ) and would love to hook it up. I would like to do this to simplify hookup (over having to daisy-chain my amp/sub together) and this way I could control the frequency cutoff straight from software.

All suggestions are welcome

(except going 5.1 :P - I am not getting a new amp, I can't afford it plus this thing is better than most stuff out there)

does it have a line in input? and if so what are the connectors on it? take a picture of the back of the sub for me, and I'll figure it out for ya

basically you'll have to either chain it through your amp/receiver or you may be able to have a line in or speaker level input and set that up through your sound card...

Anyways the chain is what I'm trying to avoid, but I've done some searching and from what I've seen it's going to be the only way. Sorta silly you can't enable it on the sound card without selecting 5.1 - the feature is obviously there, just let me use it.

you dont need anything feed it full freq it has a built in crossover.
LFE (LOW FREQ EFFECT) is only in some movies anyway if its not lfe its just bass freq.
