I have $100 to get an mp3 player. I have a couple requirements, but if it is a better deal to go without one or the other, I am open to suggestions.

I don't need to spend all $100. options so far: http://www.buy.com/prod/sandisk-sans...205537110.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855102033 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855604007

i would go with the zen just cuz i had the previous verison and it was great. No program needed. it comes up as a external drive so you can put your music and videos in.

I'd go with the Creative Zen MP3 player. http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/...-32589082.html

I would recommend the iPod... The only problem is the 80GB is non-SSD, big lagg and freeze issues, and the Touch is just too expensive... Zen products are nice because you don't need to install the software (And I don't recommend you do) and use Windows Media Play to put music on...

So, I do like the creative I have linked to. One question, SDHC? Do they work? If so, it is probably my favorite. Cons? What have you all seen?

Consider finding a used PSP in your price range. They are incredible for portable media, games and have a great selection of homebrew apps that might suit your other needs as well (PDA, Streaming media etc). A used one would certainly fall in your price range.
