I was questioning why it shouldn't be an option. Creative drivers + Vista is the reason why I recommend the Xonar DX.

Ahh my bad, so what was better music sound quality, and better game sound quality? I don't care for any XRAM or whatever that has neglible gains, it's a sound card. I want great sound quality

Get the Xtreme Music for $60 if budget is an issue. If not:
The DX sells for $90 http://techreport.com/articles.x/14500

Just picked up a Xonar DX last night. The drivers are about 10x better than the Creative ones and the sound clarity is incredible. It feels like I'm listening to a different song.

Comparing to my friends X-Fi Platinum the sound is comparable if not a little clearer with the DX. It sounds a little more lively. And it supports EAX 5.0 now so there's no real drawback.
