Uh, have you actually ever USED one?

The Razer Barracuda AC-1 is fine. If you can snag it below market value (woot.com often offers them for dirt cheap), even better.

In my experience, the X-Fi Prelude is the best for gaming that I've used; the now-discontinued X-Meridian (also from Auzentech) is the best all-around sound card, doing exceptionally well for music and very good for movies. The only weakness is in gaming positional audio, where the X-Fi cards (whether we're talking about Creative Labs' own cards or third-party cards like Auzentech's X-Fi Prelude) really do have a discernible advantage (in WinXP).

No, I never used that card before. I said it's overrated because of the hype about that card. Its a good card, but there are better.. And the woot deals don't come by that much now days..
