You really need a good music source though, lol. 128 kbps is not that great. I love Amazon's 256 kbps MP3s, but 192 kbps or better is enough to truly hear the music.
All MP3 is crap, even the 320

FLAC or wav, anything loseless.

You need good quality headphones/speakers to hear the difference, but there is definitely a pretty big difference.

Hey, I heard a big difference going from an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum to current card in my sig rig. If I heard a difference between those 2, I'm sure you would hear the difference between onboard and a good X-FI.

X-FI music and gamer are expensive. Is it worth this difference of 170-200 $?

im usin Fi Fatality Pro, from the onboard DFI Karajan module...the sound is amazingly better!! Especially for games and music since i usually listen to 192kbps and live streams on my stereo + tv + logitech 2.1 setup it blasts. It also give you +1 brag rights and looks sweet.

$170-200 bucks? don't know where you're shopping, or what you're smoking...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102006 $56 shipped, from a very well trusted dealer, can be found cheaper used...

What about hearing a large enough difference with headphones? I'm really skeptical of shelling out 150 bucks for a minor difference.
