High attenuation headphones?
I've been working in a machine shop, and you have to wear ear protection as it gets very noisy. I've been using some IEM's, but they get uncomfortable with an eight hour shift, so I'm looking for some headphones that can handle the noise.
They need to have 30db attenuation or better, is there anything besides the 280pro's that can do this? (they can do 32 according to spec sheets)

hmmm, when it comes to sound isolation your best bet would be with a pair of IEMs.
but as you said they can get uncomfortable after prolonged wearing periods. as for a pair of cans with better isolation im not all that sure. i would think most designed for studio work would be your best bet.

well the mod may defeat the specs...
but If I were you I'd look down the Beyer dynamic line, I'd be willing to beleive that my DT770 pro 80s could block out 30db... but am not certain, I just know I can't hear anything but when I have them on, my GF has to knock on the earcups, to get me away from my music/gaming in them...

IEMs, but custom fit. Should be more comfortable and block more noise. Specs say 26, but I have a hunch that's on the conservative side. Look at Livewires as well.
