there is also the kramer mod to remove some of the muddyness, but overall they're a great headphone...

dont mean to offend, but the JVCs are in a whole different category then the skullcandies.
i recommend the fx66 with a kramer mod.

edit: I just noticed that one mod improves bass while the other improves trebles etc. Isn't that counter productive or will doing both make an improvement?

although i haven't tried them, i would not say they are counter productive, while helping bass it isn't only going to make more bass, but improve the impact and help make it less muddy.
while the kramer mod helps get rid of the muddy sound that can be present.
but as he said "If you already find the FX33 too bright or harsh, you may not like this mod."
i would say it applies to the fx66 as well, give them a try and make the call for yourself.
