So I have been in the market for a MIDI keyboard lately. I don't have much money to throw into it and I just wanna be able to hit a key and have it be registered as.. well.. A key. I make simple loops with FL 8, nothing super hardcore and I plan on having the computer do all the work anyways.
So I was walking around a secondhand store yesterday and I spot this bad boy: ![]() I look on the front and it has these connectors: ![]() $18 Canadian, so I figure what the heck? If it don't work or don't do what I want it's only $18. It came with the 12V Power adapter and nothing else, no instructions or anything. I know virtually nothing about the MIDI interface and need a lot of help getting this set up. So what do I need? I got a SB Live 5.1 card in my computer as well as the realtek just because the realtek doesn't have the MIDI game port. Any help is greatly appreciated as long as it is HELP. I don't need people posting saying "that's a piece of crap you should of bought this: (link)" or "you got ripped off".

You need a 5-pin male-male MIDI cable. You also need a 5-pin MIDI to USB adapter. You could use a 5-pin MIDI to game port, but having to enable the second card just for recording is a hassle.

I've herd that the MIDI to USB interface is not as good as using the game port on the card. Is this true? Also, how much would a MIDI to USB cost? Can I use multiple MIDI devices with it?
EDIT:Also I just disabled my realtek so my computer is running off the SB Live! card (the one with the MIDI)
