I figured that out pretty late. LoL I have no experience with on-board sound. I was trying to find something using google but have come up dry. This was the closest I came to an answer. Try changing it to a higher setting like 7.1.

Is there a Matrix Mode on your control pod? That is one way of upmixing the sound to 5.1. From what I understand, music is made to play on 2.1 so really you don't have a problem. The problem exists within the software/hardware used to process music to 5.1 Look for a setting among the lines of Stereo Sorround or play through speakers x2.
