Default Onboard vs. Soundcard

Which would give me the better audio quality? Also, I'm not too concerned with off-loading the audio from the CPU since not all 4 cores are ever being fully utilized.

On-board audio (EVGA 750i SLI FTW)

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

I'm an audio noob, and I'm not sure if I should take this sound card out of my old rig and put it in my new one (sig rig), or just continue to use the on-board audio in my sig rig.

Really no benefit unless you're an audiophile.

To me is if you can use the right Speakers with the right Channels. Using laptop speakers compared to my 7.1 speakers set-up is like heaven and earth, but that is my opinion. I really do not think it really matters that much.

Onboard sound will be just fine if you're not the picky type.

Thumbs up

The onboard audio of todays computers are really good. If you want EAX or EAX advanced or what its called, then you would need dedicated sound card. If you dont care about in game effects but still achieve surround sound then onboard is way to go. good thread!
