Default Asus Xonar D2X, Asus HDAV or X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion ?

for Vista 64 bit that is...Equal Importance to HD movie playback and Gaming.Won't be using a headphone, just out of Z5500.

Asking coz i saw some post saying unless u have a uber-leet speaker setup(which Z5500 doesnt qualify of course), u won't be needing anything above DX and won't notice *any* difference with the higher models.

I vouch for the Champion. Great audio and the 5 1/4" drive bay I/O panel has made my audio experience SO much easier and more fulfilling (running my audio from the panel to my receiver to my speakers, friggin bliss). It's all right there on the front of my tower, making access easy.

Also, you may not have the ub3r le3t speaker system, but what about headphones?

D2X, I would avoid Creative because of their drivers.

The Xonar. I have had several Creatives and i must say, their hardware is good, but their drivers are made of phail.
