I used to have a Live! 5.1 USB external sound card, and it was eh OK, but not nearly as nice as the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum that I had before the sound card in my sig rig (which beats the ZS). It's decent for an HTPC I'm sure, but for gaming, I wouldn't bother. Sure, it's only $10 but your on-board sound will be the same quality.

Its a game port, it was used for older joysticks and such, and yes, your sound card would handle that. I don't know why, but that is where it was. Some motherboards had them. Not anymore though, most devices like that are USB.

Damn so how old is this card? lol
I can definitely tell a difference in the clarity from the onboard audio i was using before, its alot more crisper and its definitely alot louder.. It just seems like everything got better, lower bass, clearer highs....I definitly have been looking at the X-FI Platinum Fatal1ty Champion.....it will go on my phenom rig for sure

I have a SB0200 sitting right here and I think I found drivers through NGOHQ for Vista. Haven't tried them yet because I have an 80MM fan where the card is supposed to go.

The X-fi series are very good cards and would recommend putting one in your phenom rig. only thing i have noticed with these cards though is that they add time on your boot up, my x-fi pro adds about 25seconds onto boot up,once the card fires up or whatever it does,it does two clicks then carrys on with the boot. updating drivers dont seem to help either ![]()
