Excellent question Schubie - the project will not be limited to headphones alone, though as far as shipping goes, it might get a little overboard if we were to send a full-size desktop amp back and forth across that 'states . Anything portable/transportable would work very well and I would very much like to see these become subjects of future loans as well.

Just thought I'd post that I received the cans and despite not having a headphone amp hooked up I managed to set up a mini system in my office. I had to find a new space for my records so I could have an empty shelf... the records are now in the living room, next to the TT, and I have a shelf on my bookshelf in my office. On it now resides:

Millet Hybrid Mosfet Max
Sony PS1

It's a glass shelf, so I have a couple bamboo cutting boards (cheap isolation platforms) and some isolation feet as stands. Power cables are generic, IC is a prototype SA Reference IC.

no impressions thus far as I have to switch out to my other PS1. I managed to grab the one that skips...
