Default Digital to AC'97?????

I got some great help with a video card question I posted earlier I figured I would give this one a shot to. MY current build is a Ultra Grid Case with a 600w Ultra LS PS. Biostar TA790GX A2+ mobo with a AMD X2 5400+ 2.8 OC'ed to 3.1. Installed is Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 Video Card 160 Gig HDD 4 gigs of Corsair 800mhz ram several DVD burners with onboard 7.1 HD audio. Now My problem is with my case the front side audio (headphones) is installed with a AC'97 plug btu my mobo says digital only AC'97 not acceptable. My question is whats the difference and is there a way around it so I can use my headset for onlime gaming and comunication? I was thinking maybe a adapter or worse case a new Sound card. The sound is great matched up with a good 5.1 speaker setup just cant use my front audio jacks. Thanks for any tips and answers.
