RIght about to buy the X-fi Xtrememusic, and I was wondering about the MIDI on it..at least it LOOKS like it has MIDI, can someone make the difference clear for me? and if so, what is a cable I can get to connect it to my MIDI piano? I know what the piano needs, but the connector on the sound card looks foreign..

I don't know how the MIDI would work without the front panel. I have used my MIDI keyboard with my X-Fi but the only MIDI plug I know about is the one on the panel.
But if you have the panel, it has the small MIDI plugs right there (it comes with adaptors to regular size MIDI plugs).

![]() I don't believe that the gameport on the back of the card can be used with MIDI - it's for connecting the external breakout box. I know what you're thinking - damn Creative and their proprietary interfaces!

It's old school MIDI DA-15, see on a lot of "vintage" products. Though... from what I understand, it's questionable as reliable in Windows Vista not sure about the front I/O console one though.
