Thanks again, btw found them at Audio-Discounters as Buy.com and many others where sold out.
Great choice, probably the best headphone in your price range

On a different note anyone know where the HA-RX700 can be found down under?

I have been using the HA-rx700 for about a week now. Firstly they are HUGE!!! I have had a chance to listen to them while playing games, and also tried a few movies and music. Compared to my HD555's the sound is less desirable. The bass is indeed punchy wich makes explosions and collisions fun, but the mids and highs sound cheap and ill-defined in comparison.

For gaming they seem fine especially for story-line games. Since I spend most of my gaming time competitive FPS, I prefer my HD555's, the two seem to similar with directional accuracy - but the Senn's are way ahead being able to place people based on distance. Also the bass of the HA-RX can be kinda distracting when listening for higher pitch noises like clicks and footsteps, drowning out other frequencies. Although the isolation was nice at a recent LAN, they do get hot.

All in all not a bad headphone for the money, but not really my cup of tea. If I could do it again I would prob man up and put down the dough to try some AD700's or something - or hd555's If I didn't already have them

Sounds good - AD700's are just as clean as the HD555's, TBH, you're better off with your HD555's. I wouldn't expect Senn quality highs and mids from the RX700's, but they sound like a good FPS, if you're into fast pace shooters [GOW/UT/Deadpace]

Thanks for your input sergery! +Reps.

No prob! thanks for your thread to give me a starting point! Anyway, it can be difficult to buy products without trying them - hopefully my input can be helpful to those considering either product.

That is an interesting mod - I think I will try it! I think my friend has some left over dynamat from his car.

Regarding the sound from th HA-RX700's, it is steadily improving. I am not sure if tweaking settings or burning in is responsible, but the sound quality is better now than my initial impressions (after ~20h). These really are great cans, especially considering the price.
