Figured I'd bring this back from the dead to say thanks! I used this "technique" to get a little sony amp(when they were made in Japan) to power a couple small speakers. Worked great! Thanks!

Default ahem, I own an ep2500

Sorry to tell you this folks, but the europower ep2500 will not deliver the 1300 watts that it states, it will distort around 750-800watts at low freq, the power rating is at 1k or 2k i believe, and that freq is easy to produce power at. My CROWN XS500 throttles the ep2500, and it is rated at 1/2 the power.
I would get a subwoofer that wants less power, the Pioneer premier tsw1207d4 or 1207d2 "(sells at my store for $89.95) depending on the load you want will run off of 300w rms no problem.
On another note some Pioneer in dash cd players can use the rear channels of the deck's amp to run subs with x-overs for lpf and hpf on front, you will need a sub that only wants 50w, but the deck will not pull too much power from the computer psu compared to an amp "fuse on back of pioneer stereo's are 10a". + you will have the front channels left over to run speakers. Not to mention you will have a tuner cd/mp3/wma/aux/usb/ipod compatibility, and with some custom case mods could fit a lot of cases on the market. The mozart case has a standard din opening for a car stereo.

Those specs are a little inflated though, there is an amplifier measuring thread over at AVS Forums and from memory it could produce 1100 watts bridged at 8ohm which is still silly for home theater use.

I Just think the EP would be better because it is better build and can always be used for other things, such as your main speakers Plate amps are good but i own lots of subs and the ability to swap amplifiers between different speakers/subs if great

Like i said have a read http://www.hometheatershack.com/ and http://www.avsforum.com/ in the DIY subwoofer sections

Also if you need any help designing or with building tips i have build many HT subs (by the sounds of it so have you) so just PM me if you need specific help

i would like to build up a little car sub system in home, i think the sub with a good amply in a car destroy all the home sub hi-fi system.. but i readed that the energy from a powersupply is not stable and it could blow out if you lisen to techno or you put it at very high volume.. so i would plug it with a battery instead, i dont have a big budget, can you give me a good modele of sub with a good amply and box that when you lisen music you can feel hitting you in the chest (even at low volume is that possible?) and eeee is it possible to connect the system with any speakers? for a xbox360?

what should i need?
