Headset n00b, help needed :( - Overclock.net

Hey everyone!

I just bought a basic auxilary Plantronic headset (not sure which model) and was wondering if there was a way to set it up so I can only hear incoming voice-chat through them while still being able to use my speakers for game sounds and chat with the microphone. So far I can only use the microphone to chat, and hear received voice-chat on my speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if its a usb then yes you would be able to do it but if its analog then no there isent.

you can do this in teamspeak and maybe in ventrilo as they allow you to pick your sound devices. i have clanmates who do this in teamspeak

yea but unless he has seperate selectable outputs. on his sound device. he wont be able to do it.

correct- i assumed a usb headset which would be a seperate sound device. to do this you need 2 sound cards. a usb headset counts as a sound card. in windows control panel- use the device going to speakers as main device. in teamspeak- settings-options select the device the headset is attched to as the input and output devices
in ventrilo choose setup -then select output and input devices
