Default Need an amp: For Speakers & Headphones

Hey guys , looking to ask the audiophiles a question...

Do you know of any excellent amps that are great for headphones and speakers?

It will only be a 2.1 setup...
I have a Pair of ATH-A900
and a pair of Onix Reference 0.5s

The TCA Gizmo is great for speakers but has no headphone jack/amp associated with it.

So basically im looking for a semi-affordable amp that is great for both speaker and headphone amplification.

Thanks!

PS: Would it be cheaper to buy two separate ones? One for the speakers and one for the Headphones?

Speakers - Sonic T-Amp.

Headphones - Little Dot 1+ or MKII, DIY PIMETA, etc.

Hehe i already own the t-amp :P

and as for the little dot - i totally forgot about it and looks great.

But i would be more inclined to spend more on something that ports both headphone and speakers.

Ah yes, perhaps I should have read the sig .

A budget would be helpful at this point.

Lets say sub 250, if that's even possible.

Look around on ebay and locally for some 70's era stereo amps. They've got great headphone outs and sound excellent for the price. Marantz and HK are good choices.

Thanks mate.

i have on old technics receiver that has a headphone jack. Worked nicely , but didnt have that great of high or mids.

Something a bit more modern would be reassuring.

well in the DIY community there are options... but are you looking for a power amp for your speakers as well? or simply a stereo amp? the t-amp is a great power amp.

for both you could do a MiniMax (over your mentioned budget) with a switch in the phone jack that would turn power to the speakers off, when it detects a headphone plugged in. then run an RCA output from the back of the mini to the T-amp...

honestly if you're lookign for a quote for one built for you contact Soloz (if he doesn't post here first) great guy, easy to deal with and very experienced with millets, currently he's finishing up my Millet MAX

other great stereo amp names (NAD, SanSui, Marantz, Rotel, and more I'm sure)

Just thinking out aloud but if you buy an amp with some spare room inside to play couldnt you build a small DIY headphone amplifier inside your Stereo amplifier? Cant see it being to hard providing you have the space, the only problem may be drilling the front pannel to put the volume pot through

Like i said just thinking...
