Default Looking for new computer speakers..

Hey, I've had these Klipsch Pro Media Ultra 2.0's for like 3 years now, and they've had a problem where one speaker keeps cutting out and sound lowering in one, now it's gotten worse, I've tried to fix it but I can't.

So I need a new pair of speakers for my computer, I don't want cheap ones, looking for somewhere midrange quality speakers, I have a budget of like 250$ lol (the current ones I got costed 99$, but their out of print so I can't find another pair)

Any suggestions?

Edit// Oh, and I don't want surround sound, I like 2.0 or 2.1 lol

I would stay with Klipsch for computer speakers in a 2.0-2.1 layout. I know a lot of their 5.1 stuff had major overheating problems with the amps, but most figured out that if they put a simple fan on them they lasted much longer. The only other thing I would suggest is to step away from computer grade speakers and go for a niceish monitor setup.

ha, I'm not that crazy.

About the klipsch thing, my speakers are out of print so I can't get a new pair now, and the ones they replaced them with really suck (Groove PM20) lol

Edit// I could go 5.1 surround, but I wouldn't have any room to put them around me, I'd probably just have them on my desk lol but if there arn't any other good 2.0/2.1s then I'd go for those <_>

Neverhad that problem with mine, and I have the first production of the ProMedia Ultra THX 5.1, bought back in 2002. Still sounds awesome!

You are one of the lucky few then that didn't have any problems with them. I was comparing the Klipsch PM5.1's to the Z5300e's when I was in the market and I swear every other thread I read about the Klipsch was taking about the amp and something wrong with it. I read at least 150 different stories about the amp overheating and releasing some magic smoke. Which was the ONLY reason I took logitech over Klipsch.

Guys, what do you think about these?

http://www.ozhometheater.com/ozht_pr...ultimedia_m200

I just found them while searching around, they seem REALLY high priced for 2.0s, but they must do something good to cost so much

Never heard of them. It looks like those are the cheapest "computer" speakers they sell:

http://www.ozhometheater.com/ozht_pr...multimedia.htm

All of those are "multimedia" speakers as they call them, but they look to be speakers with their own internal amplifiers, allowing them to be used for a wide range of devices including a computer sound card.

These Logitech Z-2300 200 watts have an amazing sound when I heard them. Nice price to and I was thinking of getting a set but I got the x-530's and ran only the fronts cause of space, that didn't work out to well so I just had hook up the rears. I've had these speakers for about 2 years now and they are very good for the price I paid ($76)
