I got an ipod touch and i do like it, but its not that great. I dont really like the sound quality from ipods, all songs seem like they have to much treble or something, im not sure. They just sound ipodish lol.

Also i cant just add a song im listening to, to a playlist -.- and on top of that i cant go back and edit an old playlist to add a few songs or delete a few. OH and iTunes is just horrible!! It deleted all my apps from my touch for no reason at all

I'd go for the Zune, i love that new gears of war design you can get for them

Exactly what i was going to say, .

Although i would go for the new 120gb Zune, same as the 80gb other than capacity and is the same price ($250) as when i got my 80 last christmas.

If using any accessories (car, etc) or external headphone amp, get the iPod. If not, or that won't be your primary focus, get the Zune.

The Zunes have a higher quality headphone amp built in, but they are less versatile from an accessory standpoint.

True, they don't have as many accessories as iPods especially in-stores, but almost anything you need for it can be bought online.

Also if you do go for a Zune, get eh 120GB, pretty much the same price as the 80GB and a lot more space.

I had a zune 8 and a zune 120. The zune 120 was getting dust UNDER the screen within 2 weeks. I took it back and got one of the Ipon Nano-Chromatic thingy-ma-doos. If there is no one else around you with a zune, the "social" is pretty lame. TBH go look at both of them. Chances are any difference in audio quality you won't be able to hear, but I think the zune comes with better headphones than the ipod. Take your pick they are essentially the same.

The zune software sucked (a lot more than itunes). And now iTunes has the genius feature, which I use a lot, I hated spending time making playlists, but now with a click I can make a playlist depending on the mood im in.

Whoever said that zunes have amazing sound quality are just making it up. It's exactly the same as the ipod, just try using the same headphones.

If your choice is between a zune and an ipod, go for the ipod.
zune doesn't randomly stop working, what a load of crap. I've had mine for a year and it has never stopped working. I can listen to music while playing games and it still doesn't have a problem. The zune software is incredibly easy to use, you can basically drag and drop everything into the zune software and it will work, or you can get it to watch folders and when the folders update, so will the zune.

I think the accessories point is rather irrelevant - the dock is all you need and the zune dock is miles better than the ipod dock - mostly because of the remote. The default ipod remote is terrible.

The zune does sound better though - I can tell the difference on my car's system. The bass kind of distorts a bit through the ipod but sounds perfect, clean, and crisp on the zune. Treble is pretty similar though.

I'm going to go ahead and say Zune. I'm more than happy with my 8GB.
