Default riping 5.1 lossless audio from dvd?

how would i go around riping 5.1 audio into lossless quality audio tracs. perferabley with the 96khz/24 audio intact.

i have the special edition blood drunk album which comes with the dvd that has 5.1 version of the album on it. and i dont like using the disc in case it get dammaged.

so how would i go around riping the audio? in as true to source quality as possible?

I'm pretty sure this is a DVD-Audio disc that you are talking about, DVD-A Explorer is the program you'll need, here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4muyhm.

Install it and to open up the DVD-Audio, click the folder in DVDA Explorer, then go to the DVD drive, AUDIO_TS, then open the first IFO file listed.

It should look like this:

The first set of files is usually the 5.1 Channel version, the second is a stereo mix. Select the amount of tracks that are on the album in which version you want (the last file in each list is usually just a dummy file).

Then click on the floppy button, you should come to this screen, click on the options that are selected in the pic, this will store as wave files when you click the disc button. You can rip directly to flac by clicking the run program and then putting in the parameters, but I just do it with a seperate program because I'm lazy.

You should be all set after that!

DVD-Audio discs are also regular DVD-Videos as well, the way you can tell for sure is if it has anything in the AUDIO_TS folder, regular DVDs never have anything in that folder, so if anything is in that folder its a DVD-Audio disc.

Yea I checked and its just a regular DVD, which never has audio in the lossless form, although it is possible to rip the original 5.1 sound from it.

I think Dolby Digital, even though it's lossy, is still 92KHz/24bit audio. But yeah, 5.1 on DVD is always lossy. It still sounds awesome though.
