Default Z-5500's worth it?

I'm definitely in the market for a new audio setup (sound card+speakers) for christmas, and i was wondering if the z-5500's are worth the price jump over the g51's. i of course know that the z5500's are better and worth the money but what i really mean is which ones the best bang for the buck? I listen to alot of music 24/7 at my computer, and if im not listening to music (hip-hop, techno, simple-current-rock) im gaming. i would obviously like to spend the least amount of money so i can afford a decent sound card in the future.
Thanks
EDIT: ill be putting these in a regular sized bedroom, and im no audiophile

Well, its only good if you can put it in 5.1 setup. Also, the speakers are HUGE. I have some friends with the 5500s and they take up a lot of space.

I am not familiar with the G51s but I know the 5500s are quality speakers.

I love my z5500 system. it's great if you have a good so card to plug it in. I think it worth it eventhough I have never experienced the g51.

I will go with the Z5500. Been having them for 2yrs. now and they sound great. I heard the G51 speakers and the z5500 sounds nicer and loader.

I like my z5500s as well but you really have to have them hooked up to a decent sound card. I got tired of dealing with Creative's software and lack of XP x64 support and I am using my on board sound and I can definitely hear the difference. Also, I don't believe that the G51 have a digital decoder like the z5500s, which I really like having.

I like my G51's but regret not getting the 5500's. Spend the extra bucks the first time.

I'm guessing digital outputs? Personally I'm just about to buy the G51 myself; It's less than half the price and I don't consider myself an hardcore audiphile so I don't think I'll notice the difference between both, or at least a few hundred bucks' worth difference...

Now, it also depends if you're gonna use a sound card or run integrated sound...
