Htiab v.s. Z5500
Which would sound better? For music and movies only, a solid home theater in a box set up (HTIAB) or buying a great soundcard + z5500??

Which home theater in a box system were you thinking of? And, if you were gonna get the HTIAB, would you be using integrated sound?

What do you mean by intergrated sound?

Integrated is when you use the built in sound in your motherboard instead of using a discrete soundcard.
Are you hooking this up to your laptop, desktop, or DVD/HT system? If you're doing a home theater system, then I'd go with one of those Onkyo systems, hands down.

well i plan to use intergrated sound and use this for now by just using the HTS5100 and then one day get a nice sound card to do it. (i thought that is what you meant by intergrated just wanted to check)
I using this for desktop and DVD/HT set up. I plan on using the HDMI hookup for the DVD/HT setup, and optical for desktop.
